Morro de Sao Paulo Accommodation Hotel O Casarão Traveller Feedback
Hotel O Casarão
Address: Praça Aureliano de Lima, 190, Morro de Sao Paulo view mapThis is the oldest house on the island. It was built by the Cairu founder for his daughter in 1608. Of course, after that the house has changed owners many times, but it still sustains the same architectural traits of the time it was built. When the Brazilian emperor D. Pedro II visited the island he stayed at the house with his mistress, the Marchioness of Santos.
Behind the main building is a huge garden, with a swimming pool and bungalows, and also rooms of the guesthouse. Rates are budget, but the facilities are not! The place is nice, comfortable and complete.
It is a good choice for those wishing to explore the history of Morro de São Paulo, being well located. The inn is less than six minutes of First Beach.
