Morro de Sao Paulo Accommodation Toca do Tatu Chalets Sustainability

Nena & Genildo Bispo

Nena arrived in Morro de Sao Paulo in 1995 and felt in love with the tranquility and beauty of the island. After 20 years working as a banker in Sao Paulo, met her husband Genildo Bispo de Souza on one of her visits to the island. Genildo ended up working in Sao Paulo and they married in 2001. Love was not just on a personal level, but in the professional too, was when they decided to buy a land in one of the most peaceful places in Morro de São Paulo, at Vila do Zimbo, very close to the Fourth beach.

The works begun in 2002 and since then work and already know the area very well, being a small room (by choice) and pleasant, they think  essentially about the integration between the owners and guests for each stay in their settlement is unique and 100% satisfaction.

Graduated in psychology Benedita works to understand the needs of its visitors to understand each one with personalized service, and that is what they seek in that each one has its own rhythm and needs, and so they want to keep, and is That's what makes them so different from other owners of hotels and Pousadas.

Caring for destination

This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.

Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:

The provider is supporting the environment and the local community.

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:

The Toca do Tatu Pousada cares about your environment and because of that they recycle their own organic garbage. It's buried and then they make fertilizer to use in to make their vegetables and fruit trees.

Another implementation is in the light usage. Economic lamps are used in all the common area and also in the bungalows. Through the walkway to pool and the garden they have solar lamps in the floor too.

They help the local community providing transportation to them, because the local don't have regular transports between the villa and Morro de São Paulo.
