Place of event: Pimenta Rosa restaurant
The traditional "Feijoada da Ressaca" at Pimenta Rosa in Morro de Sao Paulo celebrated six years in 2010 and every edition is full of enthusiasm. The "Feijoada da Ressaca" brings together several attractions and among them, samba groups, DJs, music and groups of Carnival bands.
The event was held on the "Hangover Saturday" and in addition to being a real "gastronomic spree" the party brings tourists and residents to enjoy a tasty Feijoada accompanied by Caipirinhas.
The event is included in the Carnival Hangover package of Villa das Pedras and Villa Coral. They also sold tickets for the Feijoada apart, together with promotional T-shirt. Each year a new model is fabricated for the party. The aim, according to the owner of Pimenta Rosa, Cristiane Martinez, is to make a bigger and better party every edition, so they always look for sponsorships. In the 2010 edition they counted on the "Cachaça Morro de são Paulo", which served a variety of drinks, including the Caipirinhas, to the guests. For the next editions, the organizers intend to seek new partnerships with pousadas and agencies.
In the lasts four editions organizers also looked for the solidarity. In the 2010 edition it were collected about 70 cans of milk in powder, which were donated to many needy families in Morro de Sao Paulo.
The event was inaugurated in the same year that the Pimenta Rosa, in 2004. The owner says that the idea was to open a unique style of restaurant, different from anything in Morro de São Paulo, so it was held the first Feijoada that has become traditional.
The Feijoada is one of the typical dishes of Brazilian cuisine and it is very popular in the country. Its origin is linked to the African people and also the fusion of European eating habits. The recipe of the real Feijoada is made of a mixture of black beans with different parts of pork, beef and sausages. The dish is accompanied for manioc flour, white rice, steamed cabbage and sliced orange, among other ingredients.
