Festival de Primavera

The Festival de Primavera of Morro de São Paulo aims to create a new tourism product for the archipelago that recognises the local cultural identity and also encourages higher quality tourism. The festival takes place on September 8th at the same time as the celebrations for the patron saint of Morro de São Paulo, Nossa Senhora da Luz.

Each night of the festival has a theme related to one of the locations of the archipelago. Parallel Morro de São Paulo events happen throughout the island, with cultural events and concerts in the village, and later the show with a big attraction on the Second Beach. There will be loads of artistic presentations such as concerts, theatre performances, popular Brazilian popular music and art exhibitions.

The Festival de Primavera also celebrates the anniversary of the foundation of Cairú (municipality of the greater Morro de São Paulo), and is organized by the municipality. The festival is an example of good organization - visible in every detail - and marked by the peaceful mood. The programme’s policy ensures security and the an apparatus of the health department with service offices will be located throughout the island.

The second Festival da Primavera of Morro de Sao Paulo will take place from the 3rd to the 6th of September 2011. This celebration promises great attractions and surprises for all tourists and visitors who will be in Morro de Sao Paulo to enjoy this moment.
